Spotify has become the new Facebook.

Everything is trying to keep me “engaged.” Everything is fighting for my attention. By the time I actually get to listen to a song, I feel mentally tired and annoyed. Do you want to check out our podcasts? How about audiobooks? Oh, you didn’t ask, but we’ll open a distracting side panel and show you a video, just to keep you in the app.

Someone called their app a “monstrosity,” and I couldn’t agree more.

Well, good luck with that, Spotify. I’ve just moved back to Apple Music.

Dalkey Island is an uninhabited island about 16km south of Dublin, near the village of Dalkey 3km south of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. From archaeological remains it appears the first people to arrive in this area settled on Dalkey Island about 3000 B.C.

I’ve recently rewatched this movie and realised how much I love it. It has everything: good actors, beautiful cinematography, a gripping story, and an amazing soundtrack. It’s sweet and funny, but also melancholy and inspiring. And no, it’s not about traveling, but it does make me want to pack my things, go somewhere to the edge of the world, and reconsider my life.
